Students moved to accommodate Brooke Central work

Starting Wednesday, many students from Brooke Central Public School will be attending neighbouring facilities to accommodate for roof repairs at the Alvinston building.

A letter was sent to parents last week.

Those taking the morning school bus will continue to be picked up at their normal stops, around their normal time, and taken to Brooke Central.

From there, students in Kindergarten to Grade 6 French Immersion will be bussed to East Lambton, while those in the Kindergarten to Grade 5 English Program will be taken to Lambton Centennial.

Bell times will be slightly later to accommodate the students.

English students, in Grades 6 to 8 and those in Grades 7 and 8 French Immersion will remain at Brooke, and will learn at an empty space where the roof is not impacted.

At the end of the school day, Grades JK to 5 English students will be picked up at Lambton Centennial and bused home. Students in Grades 6-8 English and Grades 7 and 8 French Immersion will be picked up at Brooke and buses will continue to East Lambton.

Grades JK to 6 French Immersion students at East Lambton will be picked up and Brooke and East Lambton students will be bused home.

A bus from both the Lambton Centennial and East Lambton sites will include a stop at the Brooke after school daycare.

Although a specific date hasn’t been set for when structural upgrades will be completed, the LKDSB expects to welcome students and staff back to Brooke Central Public School in early 2023.
