Flower shop celebrates anniversary with charitable initiative

The Sarnia Flower Boutique is celebrating six years in business by also helping others in the community.

Owner Adrienne Smith said to mark the occasion this weekend, they've partnered with The Hub and Tenfed.

The Hub is a local non-profit organization that supports youth and Tenfed is a Canadian-based company where each item sold provides ten meals for those facing food insecurity.

"We just want to celebrate community. We've partnered with some local vendors and we're really proud of that and we always like to give back as well," said Smith.

Although the boutique does like to regularly support different organizations, Smith said The Hub was chosen this time because of personal connections.

On Saturday, from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m., patrons are invited to the flower boutique to check out discounted items and participate in a draw.

Stocking stuffers will be collected for youth between the ages of 12 and 24, who are supported by The Hub. Items could include chocolate, candy, gum, small monetary gift cards, hygiene products, socks, underwear, hats, mitts, and scarves.

The local shop has also created a signature candle fragrance with Tenfed called "Rebel Flower" which will be available for purchase.

"We just would love to see our customers who have supported us throughout the years come by, it would mean a lot to us," said Smith.

Wine and food will be available at the shop as well. Smith said they've partnered with Wine Rack, Navelli's European Delicatessen to supply charcuterie, and The Cheese Wedge to provide cheese plates.

Sarnia Flower Boutique is located on Murphy Road, near Wiltshire Drive.
