Lambton College excited to host in-person open house again

For the first time since 2019, Lambton College's Fall Open House will be held in-person instead of virtually but the signature event has been "redesigned" to include new aspects.

The event will take place on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

"This is always a really great day to really see what Lambton has to offer. Especially right now in the fall, a lot of high school students are looking at what programs they want to take, what career paths they want to go down," said Enrollment Initiatives Coordinator Shawn Fowler.

This weekend's open house will include an information session called TECH Talk, where representatives from NOVA Chemicals and Imperial Oil will discuss the local labour market.

"We really want to showcase what is happening in the industry so they're career ready once they graduate," said Fowler.

"We definitely see a lot of interest in our school's technology, our fire science program is also amazing as well -- our fire school will be open on Saturday for people to do tours. Also, our nursing suite and our health sciences are also super popular and we have some great labs to showcase on Saturday."

The college will also officially launch its nursing degree program over the weekend. The standalone four-year bachelor of science nursing program will be offered in its entirety starting in the fall of 2023.

Guests will have the opportunity to speak with students, staff, and deans, and get help with their applications. There will also be a chance to win prizes, which include tuition for the 2023-2024 school year.

Further details with a schedule of the open house events can be found on the college's website. Guests can also register for the event online.
