BWH declares end to COVID outbreak

Bluewater Health, in consultation with Lambton Public Health, has declared an end to the COVID-19 outbreak on the Inpatient Medicine unit in Sarnia.

Spokesman Keith Marnoch said diligent infection prevention and control measures were key in helping control the outbreak. He said Bluewater Health is grateful for the support of all staff and professional staff, patients and families, and the community during this time.

Residents are being reminded not to visit the hospital if they are feeling unwell.

Visitors are required to sanitize their hands and put on a hospital-provided mask.

There is a maximum of two visitors allowed at the bedside at a time, visitors must wear masks at all times, and there's no food or drink permitted for visitors within patient rooms.

Bluewater Health currently has 13 COVID-positive patients in hospital.
