New mayors elected across Lambton County

New mayors were elected in St. Clair Township, Plympton-Wyoming, Lambton Shores and Warwick Township.

Jeff Agar was elected to the top seat in St. Clair Township with 2,437 votes defeating Tracy Kingston by 282 votes.

An emotional Agar thanked his family and friends who helped him with his campaign.

“I have so many plans and I’m ready to get at it. There’s a lot of things that need to be done and I’m ready to do it. I’m just so overwhelmed by the support I’ve received,” said Agar. “It’s been awesome!”

Incumbent Jackie Rombouts was ousted in Warwick Township. Todd Case has been elected mayor by a vote of 907 to 494.

“I left for four years and decided I missed it and wanted to come back, and to get that kind of support from the folks here of Warwick Township is just, it’s incredible,” said Case.

Gary Atkinson was elected to the mayors seat in Plympton-Wyoming defeating Tim Wilkins by 243 votes.

“I’m very happy,” said Atkinson. “I’d like to first of all thank the residents of Plympton-Wyoming for the support and the confidence they’ve placed in me to lead this council for the next four years.”

In Lambton Shores, current Deputy Mayor Doug Cook has been elected mayor. Councillor Dan Sageman was elected to the deputy mayors position.

In Brooke-Alvinston David Ferguson was re-elected mayor. He defeated challenger and councillor James Armstrong by 110 votes.

Petrolia Mayor Brad Loosley was re-elected to another term with 1,264 votes, 505 more than Richard Poore.

There’s a new face on Point Edward Council.  Lauren Drury joins incumbents Paul Burgess, Greg Grimes and Tim Mondoux.

Mayor Bev Hand was acclaimed.

The new term starts on November 15.
