Noelle's Gift vehicle and cash lottery underway

Tickets are now on sale for the 3rd annual Noelle's Gift vehicle and cash lottery.

Noelle's mother, Lynn Paquette, said the fundraiser was first launched as a way to support the charity during the pandemic.

"This year, we're going to have Finch Ford, they are our major sponsor, and they are going to help us sell tickets for a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport," said Paquette.

She said the first early bird draw of $500 was October 11.

"The second [early bird draw] is again $500 and it's on November 11 and then we have our first prize draw on December 28 for $5,000 and the grand prize for the Ford Bronco Sport will be on December 28 as well."

Tickets are $100 each and available at Finch Ford Lincoln, on Indian Road South, in Sarnia.

They can also be purchased online.

"In the past it has raised around $75,000," said Paquette. "We are selling 1,211 tickets and the reason why it's such an odd number is Noelle's birthday was December 11. So, it was suggested in the second year that we sell the number on her birthday."

Noelle's Gift held its annual night run/walk last month. Paquette said around 250 people participated in Light Up The Night For Noelle and she estimates $25,000 was raised.

Funds raised from both initiatives will be used to help less fortunate students in Sarnia-Lambton and Chatham-Kent schools, and support Noelle’s gift closet, which stocks new closets with essential items.

Noelle’s Gift was established in memory of Noelle Paquette.

The St. Clair Catholic District School Board kindergarten teacher was killed in January of 2013.
