Missing Sarnia woman found dead, first-degree murder charge laid

Sarnia police say a man is in custody after a 47-year-old woman, reported missing earlier this week, was found dead inside her home.

Early Friday evening, investigators with the Sarnia Police Service's Criminal Investigations Division announced a deceased woman, believed to be Christine Adamson, was located in her residence in the 700 block of Roger Street on Friday.

Adamson was reported missing on October 5 after she had not been seen or heard from since last Saturday. Police then announced they were initiating a criminal investigation into her disappearance.

As a result of the investigation, officers have arrested and charged a 47-year-old Sarnia man identified as Michael Robert Adamson. He faces one count of first-degree murder. Adamson remains in police custody and has a court appearance scheduled for October 21.

A post mortem was conducted at London Health Sciences Centre on October 8, where the body was positively identified as Christine Adamson.
