Rotary Club hosts event ahead of municipal election

Sarnia and Point Edward voters can meet candidates who are campaigning in the upcoming municipal election during a meet and greet at Lambton Mall on Saturday.

The Rotary Club of Sarnia has partnered with the mall to host the event.

Initially, the event was organized to host Sarnia candidates but it expanded to include those running in Point Edward as well. Nearly 40 candidates vying for a mayoral position, city and county council, and school boards will be in attendance.

Municipal candidates will be stationed at tables throughout the mall from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., to explain their platform and answer questions.

“So many people are running this year,” said Rotary Organizer Adelle Richards. “We want to make sure the public has a chance to get to know them and engage with them in a convenient way.”

Rotary Club members will also be at the mall to help people find the candidates they would like to meet.

The full list of Sarnia candidates can be found by clicking here.

A list of those running in Point Edward can be found here.

Election day is on October 24.
