Smile cookies to support local hospice

The Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign will once again support St. Joseph's Hospice of Sarnia-Lambton.

All proceeds raised through the fundraiser at participating Tim Hortons locations in Sarnia and Bright's Grove will support resident services and equipment at the local hospice.

"We were fortunate to be the recipient a few years ago and it did really well for us then so we're hoping it will be the same," said St. Joseph's Communications and Marketing Coordinator Amanda Orr. "Our Sarnia-Lambton community has been wonderful at coming out and showing support to St. Joseph's Hospice so we're excited."

In 2018, the campaign raised over $31,000 for the hospice. https://blackburnnews.com/sarnia/sarnia-news/2018/10/04/smile-cookie-campaign-raises-lot-dough/

Director of Fund Development and Community Relations Maria Muscedere said they're hoping to exceed that amount during this year's campaign.

"Our local Tim Hortons' owners have always supported hospice so this is just another way of them coming together," said Muscedere.

Last year's 25th annual Smile Cookie campaign in Sarnia and Bright's Grove raised $44,509 for St. Clair Child & Youth Services.

In Forest, money raised at Tim Hortons restaurants in the community will benefit the North Lambton Health Centre, and in Petrolia money collected will go to the CEE Hospital Foundation.

The 'sweet' campaign will run from September 19 until September 25.
