COVID death toll reaches 150

There have been 150 COVID-19 related deaths in Sarnia-Lambton since the start of the pandemic.

The latest death was reported by Lambton Public Health in its weekly update Wednesday. The health unit said an individual in their 80s died in hospital.

In its weekly update, the health unit reported 102 new lab confirmed cases, for a total of 12,462 since March 2020.

There are five outbreaks reported, the latest are at Bluewater Health and Landmark Village retirement home in Sarnia.

The daily average number of cases over the last seven days has increased to 15 from 12 a week ago.

There are 10 COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health, less than five of whom are in intensive care.
