Paddle boarders rescued from Lake Huron

Three people were rescued Sunday after their paddle board drifted away from Canatara Beach.

Point Edward Fire and Rescue and Sarnia Fire and Rescue responded to the call just before 7 p.m., one of two back-to-back water related incidents.

Officials said the trio had drifted far away from the shore and were not able to paddle back.

The occupants were picked up by Point Edward Marine 2 unit and no injuries were reported.

By law, you are required to have a lifejacket or personal flotation device (PFD) on board for each person on a watercraft, including human-powered craft.
