Chamber of Commerce accepting OBAA nominations

Sarnia-Lambton residents have just over two weeks to nominate a local business or individual for their "outstanding" efforts within the community.

The Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce and Libro Credit Union are accepting nominations the 32nd Outstanding Business Achievement Awards (OBAA).

Nominations will be accepted until August 11.

The award categories recognize entrepreneurs, individuals, and organizations. A list of the categories can be found below.

Chamber of Commerce CEO Carrie McEachran said winners will chosen by a committee of judges outside of Sarnia-Lambton.

"They're coming in with a fresh set of eyes, unbiased, and they're really just looking at the applications and the success stories," she said.

McEachran also said the community has proven to be innovative and resilient over the past couple of years so they're looking forward to hearing local success stories.

Award recipients will be celebrated during a gala evening on October 21, at the Sunbridge Hotel’s newly renovated ballroom. The gala will cap off a week of events that will celebrate Small Business Week.

Nominations can be made online at slchamber.ca.
