Three stations called to large brush fire

Fire officials don't know what caused a large brush fire to spark in Sarnia on Sunday.

Crews from three stations were called to a fire at around 11:50 a.m., south of London Line and west of Blackwell Side Road.

"For the most part, fire crews were blocked by a creek and could not access the location," Fire Chief Bryan Van Gaver said in an emailed statement. "Crews had to wait until the fire burned toward the creek and burned itself out because of the natural barrier. Limited access was achieved at one area where crews could stomp out the flames with grass swatters."

Fifteen firefighters were on scene for about two hours.

No injuries or structural damage was reported.
