OPP recover over $500K of stolen property, Petrolia man charged

A Petrolia man linked to more than half-a-million dollars worth of stolen property is facing nearly three-dozen charges.

On March 1, the Lambton OPP Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) spotted a stolen vehicle and trailer in the 1000-block of Courtright Line in St. Clair Township. When officers approached the suspect he attempted to flee. He was later taken into custody after allegedly resisting arrest.

The CSCU was investigating multiple thefts and break-and-enters throughout the county when they located the stolen vehicle and trailer. The service was able to connect the accused to many of the occurrences. The recovered property has since been returned to the rightful owners.

Cody Price, 32, is charged with the following:

· Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 (six counts)

· Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (seven counts)

· Break and enter (six counts)

· Theft over $5,000 of a motor vehicle (three counts)

· Theft over $5,000 (four counts)

· Theft under $5,000

· Flight from peace officer

· Resist peace officer

· Possession of break-in instruments

· Mischief over $5,000

· Fail to comply with probation order

Price was held for a bail hearing and has since been released. Charges against the accused have not been proven in court, he's set to appear in court at a later date.
