Marina changes celebrated in Port Lambton

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place Friday evening to celebrate the new ownership of a Port Lambton marina.

Ecarte Marine was recently changed to RiverKraft Marine & Resort and is now owned by Nadine and Rob Kraft.

The couple from Port Franks officially took ownership of the local marina in April. Nadine said now that there are no COVID-19 restrictions, she would like to organize some events throughout the summer.

"I would like to be able to do some daily activities with kids, I do want to do a cardboard boat race, we do have a poker run that's scheduled for August 27, we [also] want to have some bands," she said. "A lot of these boaters don't want to leave … so if I can make some fun around here for them to do throughout the weekend, then I would like to do that."

The marina is also a port of call for American boaters interested in stopping by. However, it will still be listed as Ecarte Marine.

To celebrate the retirement of the marina's previous owners and welcome the Krafts to the area, a ribbon-cutting and potluck will be held on June 24 at 6 p.m. The entry fee is $10 per person. The event will also feature live music.
