A fatal crash early Friday morning closed a section of Highway 402 in Sarnia for several hours.
Lambton OPP and EMS responded to a single vehicle crash on the highway at around 1:30 a.m. near Blackwell Sideroad. Police said one person died in the crash.
The highway was closed in both directions between Indian Road and Airport Road. The westbound lanes reopened to traffic at around 7:30 a.m., and the eastbound lanes reopened about an hour later. The Modeland Road on-ramp to the eastbound 402 was also temporarily closed.
The name of the deceased was being held pending notification of next-of-kin.
