Gates open Thursday for Bluewater BorderFest 2022

The stage is set for Bluewater BorderFest.

The Summer Kick Off Concert at Sarnia's Centennial Park features some big names in Canadian music.

Organizer and Tourism Sarnia-Lambton Executive Director Mark Perrin said they're very excited to finally hold the three day outdoor concert series starting with The Tea Party and Sam Roberts Band Thursday night.

"It's the perfect week, summer is here, weather is looking great and we're ready to have some live music, a live festival back in Sarnia, super exciting this week," said Perrin.

He said this is the biggest event for BorderFest since its inception in 2017.

"The stage arrived a day early and set up was looking great, we're really excited," he said. "It's such a great opportunity for our local community, we have literally thousands of people travelling to Sarnia this weekend. Hotels are sold out, marina is sold out, it's going to be great for local businesses and our economy. It's just exciting, we know we are a little over 10,000 people coming this weekend."

The all Canadian line-up features Alessia Cara and Marianas Trench Friday night and wraps up with Our Lady Peace, Finger Eleven and Sloan Saturday night.

Perrin said there are still general admission tickets available for all three nights.

You can purchase your tickets online at www.BluewaterBorderFest.ca or at the gate for an extra $10.

Gates open each night at 5:30 p.m.
