Sarnia's mayor is remembering a former Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) who recently died.
Bob Huget, 75, passed away June 1 at St. Peter's Hospital in Hamilton.
Huget was born in Saskatchewan and had several jobs before landing in Sarnia to work for Shell Oil.
He was involved in area trade unions before being elected as Sarnia's New Democratic Party (NDP) MPP in 1990.
He held the position for five years, before returning to the Communications, Energy & Paperworkers Union (CEP) to serve as a regional political leader.
Huget's obituary can be read here.
Sarnia Mayor Mike Bradley, a Liberal candidate in the 1990 provincial election, recalled conceding to Huget.
In a post on Twitter, Bradley said they had an "excellent relationship working to improve Sarnia-Lambton."
