Tropical vacation included in Rebound's raffle prizes

Sarnia-Lambton Rebound has shifted gears with a cancelled gala and is now hosting a Hearts for Youth Raffle with some very favourable prizes up for grabs.

The annual Hearts for Youth Gala that was scheduled to take place in February was unfortunately cancelled, but donations and sponsorships will still help raise funds for youth programming.

Fund Development and Marketing Coordinator Anita Minielly said the raffle will kick off at 9 a.m. on June 1, with daily draws.

"But with really limited tickets because we wanted to create some excitement," she said. "Prizes will be announced at noon every day during the weekday, the first one being on June 2."

Raffle tickets will cost $20 each, but tickets for the final prize will cost $50 each.

"We have a seven-night stay at Young Island resort which is located in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and that's with two Air Canada tickets and a $3,000 Visa gift card for food and beverages. So the total package is valued at $10,000," said Minielly. "A lot of people are looking for a getaway so we're hoping that that is enticing enough for people to buy some tickets."

The 12th and final prize will be drawn on June 17.

Minielly said the Carpenters Union Local 1256 has also been a big supporter during this fundraiser as its lead sponsor and for donating a garden arbour for one of the prizes. A breakdown of the prizes and draw dates can be found below.

Raffle tickets can be purchased online through Rebound's website.

Money raised through the raffle fundraiser will go toward general youth programming. Sarnia-Lambton Rebound offers 13 different programs to youth geared towards life skills, education, and cognitive skill development.

Meantime, Minielly said plans are in the works for next year's Hearts for Youth Gala in February.
