Health unit hosts rabies vaccination clinics

Pet owners could get their furry friends vaccinated against rabies during clinics this spring.

Lambton Public Health said after a two-year hiatus, several low-cost rabies vaccination clinics will be held in April and May.

Cats and dogs that are in good health and have not been vaccinated within the last year can receive the rabies vaccine for $25 per animal (cash only). Animals must be three months of age and older and must be leashed or contained.

Dog and cat owners are required by law to vaccinate their pets against rabies, read a media release from LPH. Rabies is a fatal, viral disease spread by the saliva of an infected animal.
