New chamber CEO well known in Sarnia-Lambton

A well known member of the Sarnia-Lambton community will be taking over as CEO of the Chamber of Commerce as of May 6.

Carrie McEachran has served as the Executive Director of Sarnia-Lambton Rebound for the past six years. Prior to that, she served in management roles for 20 years at Community Living Sarnia-Lambton and Pathways Health Centre for Children.

She's excited for the future of the chamber, and helping businesses steer out of the COVID pandemic.

"The past two years there hasn't been a lot of committee involvement and we haven't been able to really be out doing a whole lot," said McEachran. "I'm looking forward to re-igniting that spark and getting committees going again and just getting the business community involved."

McEachran is currently the chair of the Sarnia Lambton Social Services Network, former president of the Rotary Club of Sarnia, and former board member for Physician Recruitment Taskforce and North Lambton Community Health Centre.

She has a master’s degree in leadership from Royal Roads University and a non-profit management certificate form Western University.

Allan Calvert announced his retirement plans earlier this year, after being CEO of the organization for two years.

"The only advice that he has given me so far is that the chamber is a great organization with some really great bones, great volunteers and commitment," said McEachran. "His advice is that I am absolutely going to love this role."
