TSL social media campaign offers prizes for likes, comments, shares

Tourism Sarnia-Lambton is giving Facebook and Instagram users a chance to win some great prizes with the click of a mouse.

The organization has launched the Twelve Days of Christmas Giveaways social media campaign to support business partners of the tourism industry.

TSL Executive Director Mark Perrin said it doesn't cost a dime to take part.

"They can go online to either our Facebook or Instagram account, and from there they can like, share and comment on the giveaway, and that will enter them in the draw," said Perrin.  "It's completely free and open to everyone both in Lambton county and obviously outside Lambton county where we kind of market and push it a little bit further."

Perrin said around 50 businesses are taking part, leading to a vide variety of prize packages.

"There will be overnight stays, event tickets, and then different businesses that we've grouped together to make kind of different discoveries," he said.  "So, we really look forward to highlighting that and sparking interest for maybe outside residents, but also our locals to say 'hey, I should go check that place out and shop there for the holiday season.'"

Twelve Days of Christmas Giveaways began December 1 and runs until December 24.  Perrin said the initiative will continue to grow right up until Christmas.

TSL is also promoting unique and festive locations to visit, shop and experience through a new video campaign.

Perrin said the Sarnia-Lambton Holiday Shopping Spotlight video series will highlight what some area businesses have to offer.

"People can see what's in stores and talk to some of the owners and learn more about the local businesses.  So, we're going to break it up in to five different videos covering a different region through Lambton county on each video."

Perrin said the programs, along with the continued success of the Tourism Sarnia-Lambton gift certificate program, complement TSL's ongoing media and marketing campaigns to attract visitors to Lambton county.
