Hydro pole hit, police looking for grey Ford Edge

Sarnia police are investigating after a hydro pole was struck by a vehicle in the Mitton Village area Monday morning.

Cst. John Sottosanti said police received word of the crash near Ontario Street and Proctor Street before 6:30 a.m.

"The pole has been sheared and the wires were found hanging. So that area has been barricaded for now as Bluewater Power repairs it," he said.

Repairs are expected to take several hours. The public is asked to avoid the area for the time being.

Sottosanti said they're looking for a suspect vehicle.

"Information at this time is that it was believed to be a dark grey Ford Edge with what appeared to be heavy front-side-passenger damage."

Anyone with information pertaining to the collision is asked to call the Sarnia Police Service at. 519-344-8861.
