Santa and his nine reindeer are making a return to the Corunna parade.

The Optimist Club of Moore is bringing back the traditional parade this year after hosting a drive-by event in 2020.

“After a brief discussion, a unanimous decision was made to hold a regular parade,” said Parade Chair Tracy Kingston. “We felt the community needed a morale boost after all the COVID turmoil.”

The parade will start at 6:30 p.m. November 27. It will resume its usual route through Corunna’s main core starting at Chris’ No Frills at 175 Bunker Avenue and will travel north on Lyndoch Street before wrapping up on Beckwith Street.

Kingston said they’re expecting around 10 to 15 floats to take part in this year’s event.

“We are getting off to a late start and understand we won’t have the usual 30 entries” Kingston said. “But the organizers are hopeful there is enough participation to make Santa’s arrival a joyful one.”

Those interested in being in the parade can find entry forms online.

Additional information and updates on the parade can be found on the Optimist Club of Moore Facebook or Instagram pages.
