Guilty plea entered in Warwick murder case

A Lambton County woman has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of manslaughter in the death of a 29-year-old man in the Village of Warwick in 2018.

Tina George entered a plea in Sarnia court via video Friday morning.

George was charged with second-degree murder following the death of Jesse Storr on April 29, 2018.

Legal counsel Richard Braiden notified the court that his client, George, would plead not guilty to second-degree murder but guilty to manslaughter.

On the day of his death, Storr was found at a home on Egremont Road where he was treated by paramedics but later died of his injuries. Storr was a father of three.

An agreed statement of facts was read to the court by the assistant crown Friday. A publication ban is in place on any evidence presented until the end of the matter.

Court proceedings briefly paused after George's father interjected during the video conference to state his daughter, overcome with emotion, had experienced an epileptic seizure. Court resumed 20 minutes later and the reading of the statement of facts continued.

George is to appear in person in Sarnia court for sentencing on January 7, 2022.
