Annual craft show in Petrolia to be held outdoors

The Optimist Club of Lambton Central - Petrolia is excited to welcome residents back to its annual craft and gift show.

Although this is the Optimist Club's eighth year running the event, this is the first year it's being held outdoors.

"We want to use an outdoor space so we don't have to worry about certain restrictions that are in place right now," said Optimist Deb Kohoutek.

The craft show was not held last year due to the pandemic so Kohoutek said they're thrilled to hold the event again.

"Everyone we've spoken to that we've discussed this event with is very excited to see something happening, where people can get out and get some fresh air, and check out these vendors," she said.

The Outdoor Craft and Gift Show will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. The event will be held "rain or shine". According to Environment Canada's forecast, there is a 40 per cent chance of showers on Saturday.

Take-out food vendors will be on-site, as will over 60 vendors.

"[We have] all kinds of crafters coming in with everything from Scentsy to homemade woodworking. There are so many vendors that we have that have unique items," said Kohoutek. "Start your Christmas shopping early, definitely!"

The outdoor event will be held behind the library at 396 Fletcher Street in Petrolia. Kohoutek said there will be some traffic control in the area. Admission is free. COVID-19 protocols will be in place.
