COVID caseload up 16, five in hospital

Lambton Public Health reported 16 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 Thursday.

In its daily update the health unit reported that the caseload since March 2020 has reached 4,021. The number of cases deemed resolved went up by 11 to 3,889, increasing the active case count by five to 62.

There are two outbreaks at unnamed workplaces and one at Confederation Public School.

The Lambton Kent District School Board is reporting student cases at six area elementary schools and one high school.

There is one elementary school and one high school with the St. Clair Catholic District School Board reporting infections among the student population.

Bluewater Health has five COVID-positive patients in hospital, up one from Wednesday.  Four of the patients are in the ICU.
