Vehicle stolen from Sarnia Bay Marina recovered quickly

A vehicle stolen from Sarnia Bay Marina early Tuesday was recovered in under eight hours.

Sarnia police said an individual entered the marina lobby just after 3 a.m. and once inside pried a key box from the wall in an office.

The suspect allegedly located a set of keys which operated a vehicle belonging to the marina, took them into the parking lot, found the vehicle, and drove away.

The stolen vehicle was observed driving erratically on Lasalle Line at around 11 a.m.

Officers attended the area and located the vehicle in a parking lot on Williams Drive with the driver still present.

A 35-year-old Sarnia man was taken into custody without incident and charged with break and enter, theft of a motor vehicle, breach of probation, possession of property obtained by crime, and operating a motor vehicle while prohibited.

He remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
