COVID cases up five, three recoveries

Lambton Public Health reported five new cases of COVID-19 Monday.

In its daily update, the health unit reported the caseload since the start of the pandemic in March 2020 has reached 3,769.

Three more cases were deemed resolved for a total of 3,647, increasing the active case count to 53.

The death toll is unchanged at 69 and there are no active outbreaks.

Bluewater Health has one COVID-positive patient in hospital, down one from Friday.

The St. Clair Catholic District School Board is reporting a case at a third Sarnia area elementary school. One student at Gregory A. Hogan has tested positive and one class is closed as a result. One case was previously reported at St. Matthew and two cases at St. Phillip's in Petrolia.

The Lambton Kent District School Board had previously reported one staff case at Colonel Cameron Public School in Corunna. Two students have tested positive at Queen Elizabeth II in Petrolia, and one student at Riverview Public School in Port Lambton.

There is also one positive student case reported at Great Lakes Secondary School. All schools remain open.
