Weapon, drugs seized in traffic stop

Sarnia police say a traffic stop Wednesday led to the seizure of a weapon and various drugs.

Officers stopped a vehicle at around 11:50 a.m. on Christina Street, near the Highway 402 overpass.

Police said they found a loaded sawed-off rifle wrapped in a bandana, after the suspects exited the vehicle to speak with them.

During a search, police allegedly confiscated 12.2 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 7.6 grams of suspected fentanyl, 0.3 grams of suspected crack cocaine and several .22 calibre rounds of ammunition.

Caylie Rhianno White, 39, of Petrolia, faces the following charges:

1. Use of a firearm while committing an offence

2. Careless storage of a firearm

3. Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

4. Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm

5. Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm

6. Occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a prohibited or restricted weapon

7. Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm

8. Possession of a firearm knowing the serial number has been tampered with

9. Two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking

10. Possession of a schedule one substance

Garrett Praill, 35, of Windsor, faces the following charges:

1. Careless storage of a firearm

2. Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

3. Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm

4. Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm

5. Occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a prohibited or restricted weapon

6. Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm

7. Possession of a firearm knowing the serial number has been tampered with

8. Four counts of failing to comply with a probation order

9. Two counts of possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order

Both White and Praill remain in custody pending a bail hearing.
