Job seekers invited to Express Employment hiring event
It’s welcome news for Sarnia-Lambton residents looking to enter the workforce.
Express Employment Professionals is hosting a hiring event on Thursday afternoon.
Franchise Owner Bruce Hein said the local labour market is tight right now, and companies are having a hard time finding people that can come back to work.
“Positions are anything from entry-level, whether it be office or clerical type needs, to industrial needs, to skilled labour to professional needs. It’s really a full gamut.”
Hein said it’s been a struggle right across North America in terms filling job postings for their clients.
“A good many people either can’t or don’t want to go back to work yet,” said Hein. “It might be that they’re collecting CERB (Canadian Emergency Response Benefit) and just enjoying the summer. However, the CERB payments will run out eventually at some point and we’ll need to get back to normal.”
Hein said those interested can bring in their resumes and the team will help them find suitable employment.
The free event is being held Thursday from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. outside of the Express office at 347 Christina Street North.
