Ontario’s police watchdog is investigating after a female was injured during an incident with Sarnia police.

Officers responded to a disturbance on Devine Street near East Street at around 7:20 p.m. Monday.  Police said a female was injured and then transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) was notified and has invoked its mandate.  Further details have not been released.

The SIU is an arm’s length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury, or allegations of sexual assault.
