Sarnia's Julia Greenshields and Canada's women's rugby sevens team will return home from Tokyo without a medal.
The team finished the Olympic group stage with a 1-2 record after falling to France 31-0 Thursday night. They then missed the quarterfinals on a tiebreaker by two points.
Greenshields scored a try in Canada's 45-0 win over Brazil Friday morning.
The 29-year-old and the team qualified for the Olympics in 2019 after capturing a bronze medal at the World Series Sevens tournament in France.
The Canadians face Kenya for ninth place Friday at 8:30 p.m. (EST)
