Former Lambton warden John McDonald passes away

A former Lambton County warden has died.

John McDonald passed away at Bluewater Health Tuesday, July 27, just five days after his 94th birthday.

McDonald was born in Bosanquet Township in 1927 and served as Bosanquet's deputy reeve in 1971 and 1972.

He was promoted to reeve in 1975 and stayed in the role until 1978, when he also served as Lambton's warden.

McDonald was involved in numerous organizations in Lambton County and is remembered for growing delicious fruits and crops at his farm on Ridge Road.

He was predeceased by his wife Margaret in 2014 after 60 years of marriage, and is survived by two children, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

His obituary states that cremation has taken place and a funeral visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line in Sarnia, Friday, August 6 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
