Stamkos celebrates another Stanley Cup win

The Sarnia Sting are congratulating alumnus Steven Stamkos on winning his second straight Stanley Cup title.

Stamkos and the Tampa Bay Lightning captured the trophy again Wednesday night, with a 1-0 win over the Montreal Canadiens. They won that best of seven final four games to one.

The Lightning captain scored eight goals and added 10 assists in 23 playoff games, after being limited to just one postseason contest in 2019-20.

Stamkos was drafted first overall by Tampa in the 2008 NHL entry draft and was named team captain in March of 2014.

In January 2018, Stamkos became the first player in Sting history to have his number retired in a jersey-raising ceremony before a capacity crowd at Progressive Auto Sales Arena.
