Nearly 94,000 COVID vaccines given as LPH expands rollout

As local COVID-19 vaccinations near 94,000 shots, Lambton Public Health has opened up second dose registration to those 65 and up.

The health unit said as of Monday, individuals in that age group or who received their first dose before May 6, 2021 can book their second shot online at www.getthevaccine.ca.

Similar to the rollout of the first doses, second doses are being distributed according to age and priority group.

To date, 93,922 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to eligible Lambton residents.

About 69 per cent of the adult population has received one or more shots and 14 per cent of eligible youth.

Also Monday, residents who were given a first dose of AstraZeneca vaccine can book their second dose of another approved mRNA vaccine.

Residents with COVID-19 vaccine-related questions can also contact the vaccine call centre at 226-254-8222.
