Sarnia woman gets 3.5 years for Davis Street stabbing

A Sarnia woman has been sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison for stabbing a man at a Davis Street home.

Lindsay Smith, 41, recently pled guilty to one count of assault causing bodily harm in the stabbing of a 57-year-old man in January.

Smith was sentenced to a total of 1,277 days, including 168 days in custody presentencing.

On January 26, first responders were called to a residence in the 200 block at around 12:35 a.m., and found a 57-year-old man who had been stabbed.  The victim was taken London hospital with serious injuries.

A police investigation led to an arrest warrant being issued for Smith, of no fixed address.  Police said she was arrested, without incident, in the area of Lanark Court after 10:30 p.m. that night.
