Health unit rescheduling second COVID shots

Lambton Public Health is rescheduling appointments for second doses of COVID-19 vaccine.

The health unit said it's expanding the vaccine rollout to offer second doses to eligible individuals ahead of Health Canada's 16-week interval timeline.

Similar to the rollout of first doses, second doses will be distributed according to age and priority.

Those 80-years-old and up, who received their first dose of vaccine on or before March 16, are now eligible to book their second dose appointment.

Lambton Public Health will be contacting those individuals directly via e-mail or phone to schedule appointments.

If you're 80 or older and received your shot in that time period, and are not contacted by the end of the day Monday, you're asked to call the Vaccine Call Centre at 226-254-8222.

Depending on vaccine supply, moving forward, the health unit will continue to book second dose appointments in stages and following the order in which first doses were given.
