Do It For Sarnia Block Party postponed again

A large fundraiser in support of mental health and addiction services at Bluewater Health has again been impacted by the ongoing COV1D-19 pandemic.

For the third time, the LiUNA Do It For Sarnia Block Party has been postponed.

Executive Director Kathy Alexander said the outdoor concert featuring The Trews and Walk Off the Earth, originally planned for June 19 and 20, 2020, has been moved to June 10 and 11, 2022.

"We felt it was the right decision,  the safe decision to formally postpone this year's block party as a result of the current pandemic," said Alexander. "All of the bands have reconfirmed and recommitted."

Alexander said like many other charities, the Bluewater Health Foundation is projecting a substantial loss due to the cancellation and postponement of a number of key fundraisers.

"We continuously raise funds for Bluewater Health through donors, community events, sponsorships and block parties, so we're going to be continuing all of our efforts and looking outside the box to do things differently in coming year," she said. "But, we do know that we're going to have a difficult year, we know other charities are also going to be facing difficult times so we're just grateful to all those who continue to support Bluewater Health Foundation and all of the amazing charities in our community."

Alexander said those who have already purchased tickets can hold onto them for next summer, or refunds will be made available until May 31 through the foundation's website, www.bwhf.ca.
