Lambton College receives $2M for naming rights to athletics complex

Lambton College has received a $2 million sponsorship from Cestar Group for its new athletics and fitness complex.

The donation will be used primarily to fund increased athletic and recreational offerings at the college and includes corporate naming rights.

A new sign has been installed at the main entrance of what is now known as the Cestar Group Athletics & Fitness Centre.

The Cestar College of Business, Health and Technology is a private Toronto school licensed since 2011 to teach Lambton College students, using Lambton curriculum.

President of Cestar Group, Hufeng Chen said they're pleased to take a leadership position as an educational partner for such an important facility.

“Our contribution to Lambton College was inspired by the way this facility is at the heart of the Sarnia-Lambton community,” said Chen in a news release. “It really does represent the way the Cestar Group and Lambton College build bridges. And the way we embrace people from all walks of life.”

Lambton College and Cestar Group have a longstanding partnership that spans more than 13 years and has benefitted tens of thousands of students from around the world.

“Lambton College has been working with Cestar Group for many years, and we’re thankful for the tremendous international educational opportunities they have provided for so many of our students,” said Lambton College President and CEO Judith Morris. “This donation is an extraordinary tribute to our collaborative partnership, and a huge investment in the mental and physical health and wellbeing of our students and college community.”

The 40,000 square athletics and fitness facility opened in the fall of 2018. It includes a 15,000 square foot double gymnasium with seating for 1,241 fans, two full-sized basketball courts and a 6,000 square foot fitness centre.
