The successful applicants have been announced for the 2021 Green Leader Program.
The program is a joint effort of the Town of Petrolia and Waste Management of Canada.
The Petrolia Discovery Foundation is getting $10,000 for its North Battery Rehabilitation Plan.
The North Battery is a bermed area at the Discovery containing three tanks which will be replaced to protect the area's natural environment.
A grant of $5,000 has been approved for a Kiwanis Club of Petrolia and Area project that will provide preschool and school-aged gardening and composting programs.
Applications for the 2022 Green Leader Program will be available online early next year.
