Students heading into post-secondary studies in the fall are reminded that now's the time to look for scholarships.
The St. Clair Region Conservation Authority is accepting applications from high school students pursuing studies in an environmental field, including; biology, ecology, geography, forestry, agriculture, fish and wildlife.
Manager of Communications Donna Blue said the number of applications varies from year-to-year, but on average they get 10 to 15.
"The students must either live or attend a school within the St. Clair Region boundaries, and they submit an application that they can find online and it is reviewed by a sub-committee of the St. Clair Region Conservation Foundation," said Blue.
A total of four scholarships are available.
"There are two scholarships available for the A. W. Campbell Memorial Scholarship, both of those are $1,000 a piece, and then we have the Tony Stranak Conservation Scholarship which is worth $500 and the Mary Jo Arnold memorial Scholarship which is worth $500 as well."
Scholarships applications are available on the SCRCA website. The deadline to apply is May 31, 2021.
The Lambton Federation of Agriculture has also released a list of available scholarships.
Eight regular scholarships are available to applicants from a family actively farming in Lambton County.
