Sarnia councillor Margaret Bird's latest call to petition Ontario's premier to immediately end pandemic lockdowns has been shot down again -- this time by her colleagues at Lambton County Council.
Margaret Bird wanted council to instruct staff to write a letter to Doug Ford, with a copy to the prime minister, asking that all businesses and organizations be allowed to fully open again.
Her motion failed by a vote of 32-5. Councillor Bird and Warwick Township Mayor Jackie Rombouts were the only members who supported it.
County council considered the resolution just hours before the premier announced the province's third state of emergency and a four-week stay-at-home order.
Sarnia council considered and overwhelmingly rejected Bird's motion March 25.
