Spike in Sarnia-Lambton COVID cases

Sarnia-Lambton’s COVID-19 numbers spiked Sunday with 27 new confirmed cases being reported.
Lambton Public Health said the total case count since the start of the pandemic has reached 2,094. Recoveries increased by four to 1,951, which means the number of active cases jumped by 23 to 97 over the past 24 hours.
There also was an increase of 12 confirmed cases reported Saturday.
The death toll remained unchanged at 46 and outbreaks dropped by one to seven.
Bluewater Health reported Sunday that an outbreak in the General Medicine/Acute Medicine Unit in Sarnia has ended. As of Friday the health unit website showed the outbreak declared February 18 had infected one patient and six staff.
Bluewater Health said it has one positive patient in hospital as of Sunday, up one from Saturday.
