Police arrest woman accused in Davis Street stabbing

Sarnia police have arrested a 41-year-old woman accused of stabbing a man at a home on Davis Street Tuesday morning.

First responders, called to a residence in the 200 block at around 12:35 a.m., found a 57-year-old man who had been stabbed -- the victim was in London hospital with serious injuries.

A police investigation led to an arrest warrant being issued for Lindsay Rene Smith, of no fixed address. Police said the suspect was arrested, without incident, in the area of Lanark Court after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

She was remanded in custody pending a bail hearing on charges of assault causing bodily harm and assault with a weapon.

Police thank the public for its help in the investigation.
