Sarnia man charged in disturbance at drug store

A 27-year-old Sarnia man is facing charges after causing a disturbance at a pharmacy on Indian Road at around 12:40 p.m. Friday afternoon.

Sarnia police said the man became irate and began yelling at staff and disturbing customers.

The man left the area in his vehicle and allegedly narrowly avoided hitting other cars.

When the suspect returned home and a neighbour confronted him about his unsafe driving, he allegedly began yelling obscenities and making death threats against the neighbour and another witness who called 9-1-1.

Police said the suspect failed a breath test, and was taken to police headquarters where he allegedly blew over twice the legal limit.

The man is facing charges including operation while impaired by alcohol, causing a disturbance, and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

He is scheduled to appear in Sarnia court on March 16, 2021.
