Overnight parking restrictions in effect December 1

Overnight parking restrictions are once again coming into effect in the City of Sarnia.

As of Tuesday, December 1, any vehicle parked on a city street between 2 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. can be ticketed under the bylaw.

Bylaw Enforcement Manager Adam MacDonald said the only exemption is for December 31, 2020 for New Year's Eve.

"Overnight, on-street parking restrictions enable the City to conduct necessary snow removal work throughout months where snowfall is expected," said MacDonald.

Overnight parking of licensed personal automobiles and motorcycles on residential streets is allowed between the hours of 2 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. from April 1 to November 30, annually.

These vehicles can park on the street for a maximum of 12 hours.
