Josling signs ECHL deal in West Virginia

The Sarnia Sting's leading scorer from this past season is ready to make the jump to professional hockey.

Right Winger Sean Josling has signed with the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL, an affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

In a news release, he said he's excited to begin the next chapter of his career.

"Wheeling is the best opportunity for me, as it's a great spot to play, and they have a history of moving players up the lineup quickly to the AHL and NHL," said Josling. "I like to score goals and put points up, but I take pride in my own end first and like to be an all-around player."

In his COVID-shortened overage season, the 21-year-old Toronto native scored 32 goals and dished out 46 assists in 60 games. It was his fourth and final season with the team.

Overall, he put up 86 goals and 103 assists in 250 regular season games.

He ranked second in team powerplay points with 23 and led the squad with six points while shorthanded.
