Harbourfront Inn rebranded as Days Inn after $1M reno

Sarnia's Harbourfront Inn has been renovated and rebranded as a Days Inn.

Toronto-based Realstar Hospitality announced its newest Days Inn franchise at 505 Harbour Rd. Thursday.

A news release said the hotel is 100 per cent smoke-free and features 94 spacious guest rooms and suites, each with TV, free Wi-Fi, plush bedding, mini-fridge and microwave.

“We are thrilled to open the doors of our hotel under the Days Inn brand,” said hotel owner Rickey Randhawa. “Our modern guest rooms and facilities, along with friendly hospitality are certain to provide a relaxing and enjoyable stay for our hotel guests.”

Randhawa said the renovation work cost over $1 million.

Billed as Sarnia's only waterfront hotel, the facility's look was refreshed in all public spaces and guest rooms prior to opening, and there were extensive upgrades to bedding and flooring as well as the addition of brand new hotel artwork.

Randhawa said all 17 of the staff at the former Harbourfront Inn have been retained and a sales manager hired.

Realstar Hospitality President and COO, Irwin Prince said the property is a great addition to the brand, and helps broaden the distribution of Days Inns across Ontario.

“Development across the country is important in expanding our Days Inn customer base. With another few hotels on the books and numerous other projects on the horizon, the brand continues to be well-positioned for robust growth,” he said.
