Weir falls short of Mickelson on seniors tour

Despite a disappointing Sunday, Sarnia's Mike Weir had his best finish on the PGA Tour Champions over the weekend, finishing second to fellow lefty Phil Mickelson.

Weir took a three-stroke lead into the final round of the Dominion Energy Charity Classic from Richmond, Virginia, but ended up three strokes back of Mickelson at 14 under par.

Weir has now played eight events in his first season on the seniors tour, picking up three top 10 finishes and over $475,00 in winnings.

Mickelson, who fired a final found of 65, has now won for the second time in two starts on the Champions Tour.
